"We need to bring a better attitude on Saturday. Going to be a big weekend for us."

With back-to-back matches over the weekend, the Paarl Royals will have no time to breathe as they set off in pursuit of qualification in the SA20. And it's probably why their captain stressed on the importance of the team bringing the right kind of attitude on the field. Especially, after coming off a loss in their own backyard in the previous game. There were plenty of encouraging words from David Miller in the Royals dressing room, preparing his unit for the challenge ahead.

16th Match: Paarl Royals vs MI Cape Town

Boland Park, Paarl

Saturday, Jan 21: 1:30 PM local time

The last time these two teams faced off was in the SA20 opener at Cape Town. A commanding performance from Rashid Khan's troops saw MICT emerge on top. Since then, both sides have had a similar journey in the tournament, winning 2 of their 5 games and floating in third place on the points table. Both the Royals and MICT are coming off a defeat in their last matches, and co-incidentally, against the same opponent - Sunrisers Eastern Cape.

Going by the last fixture at Boland Park, the pitch slowed down considerably in the first innings, posing a bit of a challenge for the batters. If the conditions continue to be the same and with matches on consecutive days, expect a similar type of contest between bat and ball. The spin bowlers though have been making merry on such wickets.

Team News

Dane Vilas was replaced by Corbin Bosch against the Sunrisers, while Codi Yusuf came in for Ferisco Adams. Although he had a scratchy start with the bat, some more game time will give him the much-needed confidence. The hosts still haven't used their wildcard, Andile Phehlukwayo, and it remains to be seen how and when that move plays out. There is no official news regarding any injuries in the camp, so unless there's a change in strategy, expect no surprises in the playing XI.

Royal to watch

Corbin Bosch: With the kind of impact he's had in the CPL, Corbin Bosch could be a real gamechanger for the Paarl Royals, particularly at this stage in the tournament. Not only is he capable of some explosive hitting, but also has a knack of breaking partnerships with his seam bowling. Add to that an ace fielder and it makes the young South African a complete all-round package. Watch out for the Thorbin Show!
